Here at MALEE MINERAL WATER, we are concerned and well aware of the effects of our actions to the surrounding nature. We work hard to minimize our impact on the environment made by the production and distribution of our products. We are, therefore committed to improving our environment awareness and will continue to reduce our carbon footprints whenever and wherever possible.
P.E.T. resin
As the only material for the making of our water bottle, we place considerable amount of attentions in sourcing P.E.T. resin. We verify and inspect each batch of P.E.T. material before using it for manufacturing preforms and bottles .Furthermore, we always obtain our material from sustainable suppliers. Most importantly, our P.E.T. bottle is 100% recyclable and reusable. In the interest of recycling, we will recycle any clean but unused bottle to cut down any wastage.
Bottle design
To contribute to our efforts in making the world a better place, we are reducing the use of plastic by redesigning some of our bottles. New bottles are not just tougher and sturdier, but also require less P.E.T. to manufacture.
Our most significant development to save P.E.T. material is the use of the latest capping technology. We are currently adopting a newly developed capping system, called the PCO 1881 capping system. By accepting the more advance version of capping mechanism, we could save more than 1 gram of P.E.T. material for every bottle produced. This technology (corresponding to the use of smaller caps) has allowed us to save tonnes of plastic materials in a year.
Water
During the production process, water wastage is inevitable but we are doing everything we can to minimize the amount. For instance, the water used for bottle rinsing process is partially reused again. In the production of water, 30% of it will be discarded during the filtration process of drinking water, as opposed to 0% during that of mineral water. For this reason, we give more priority to the production of mineral water.
Carton box and plastic pallets
Damaged and unusable carton boxes will be sent to recycling company for recycling. Additionally, we will reuse any carton box wherever possible. In the interest of preserving the forest, we have replaced some of our wooden ones with plastic pallets as they are lighter and can be moved around with ease.
Vehicle
To reduce greenhouse effect and carbon footprints, we have replaced our diesel powered forklifts with battery powered, emission-free electric forklifts. These electric forklifts have proven to be more energy efficient and could carry out more complex jobs.
